During the summer months, NEST serves and supports its mission (transformation through education and nutrition) by sponsoring a weekday Lunch, Learn and Play Program. A free lunch is supplied, camp games, crafts and sports are facilitated, and grade level skill retention activities are provided in which the students can engage. The program is run in two of the same low-income neighborhoods in Loveland that NEST serves throughout the school year, providing tutoring and snacks.
Prince of Peace is committed to providing volunteers to support the Lunch, Learn, and Play program during the week of July 30-August 2. Two to 8 adults are needed each day to help make this summer program happen. Children are welcome to attend under supervision of their parent(s).
The Summer program runs from 12:30pm to 2:30pm each Monday through Thursday. Volunteers need to arrive by 12:15 pm. Volunteers on Thursday will be coordinated through the POP Mini-Mission week.
