Parents & Grandparents play a unique and vital role in passing on faith to the next generation. Join us for this engaging workshop day where you'll discover practical ways to share your faith journey and ideas to create meaningful spiritual connections with your grandchildren - whether biological, friends and neighbors, or kiddos from church. From "Faith Webbing" to hands-on service projects, you'll gain the tools and confidence to make everyday moments count. Because you never retire from sharing God's love! Join fellow grandparents (and surrogate grandparents!) at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Loveland for this special opportunity to strengthen your family's faith legacy.
*Kids and youth are welcome to join us for part of the day, too! Invite your grandkids or neighbors to join us starting at 11:00 am for a service project, meal, and intergenerational activity. Leaving a Gospel Shaped Legacy
Led by Sherry Schumann, President of the Christian Grandparenting Network. Learn more about Sherry here.
Many of us have bought into the cultural lie that we are inconsequential in the lives of our children and grandchildren. This lie suggests we either retire to “leisureville” or become overindulgent fun factories for our grandchildren; however, nothing is further from the truth. In this workshop, we will dig into God’s Word to uncover what the Bible says about our role as biological and surrogate grandparents. We will discuss practical ways to leave a Gospel shaped legacy; furthermore, we will be challenged to commit ourselves as prayer warriors interceding regularly on our children’s and grandchildren’s behalf.
Faith-Webbing
Led by Gary Pecuch, Southern Ohio Synod Youth Ministry Church Coach. Learn more about Gary here.
Gary Pecuch and his wife Laurie have been in congregational youth ministry since the 1980’s. Early on they realized that many young people were experiencing what they called “relationship voids”. Often times missing a father, mother, grandparent, brother or sister. They soon pivoted their ministry to helping church members to fill those voids. The end result was that church members began to see themselves as “church family”. A place where everyone had oodles of grandma’s and grandpa’s, moms and dads, brothers and sisters, granddaughters and grandsons. Come and hear some simple ways we can all grow in faith together.
