This week’s Theme: We are called to connect with ourselves!

Life can be pretty busy for a family. Can you think of five things your family does every week? Ten? Fifteen? Our lives can become so hectic sometimes that we feel disconnected from ourselves. God longs for us to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of each other, our community, and the world.

The Five Steps of the FAITH5™:

STEP ONE:
SHARE your highs and lows

STEP TWO:
READ a Bible verse or story

(This week: we recommend using John 3:1-17)

STEP THREE:
TALK about how the Bible reading might relate to your highs and lows

STEP FOUR:
PRAY for one another’s highs and lows

STEP FIVE:
BLESS one another

Family Talk Questions

  1. Make a list of five to ten sentences that start with “I am” that describe you. How many of these sentences describe who you are and how many describe what you do? What would you add to each others lists?

  2. What are the two or three activities you do weekly that are most important to you? Why are they important?

  3. When do we take time to rest and reflect as a family? If you could give us a grade on this, how would we score?

  4. Through baptism, God claims us as children - we are a part of the family of God! How do we live into this identity as a family and as individuals?

  • Let each member of the family pick one part of a meal this week. Talk about why you chose that food and how it makes you feel.

  • Take time this week to check in using “feelings words”. You can use this poster as a starting spot for conversations.

  • Leave one another reminders of what you love about each other this week in fun places throughout the house (by the coffee maker, bathroom mirrors, phone chargers, etc.)
