Advent
"A Thrill of Hope," calls us to prepare for Jesus’ coming by living with hope, compassion, and a commitment to justice, as we await a world filled with God's peace and love.
Advent Happenings at Prince of Peace
Follow along with our community Advent Devotional. This year we’ll be using Kate Bowler’s “The Weary World Rejoices”. Contact the office (513)683-4244 if you have trouble accessing it.
Advent Devotionals
Advent is a time of waiting, holding our breath with the tension of a promise glimpsed, but not yet fulfilled. The Weary World Rejoices: A Free Advent Devotional invites us to lean into this waiting with eyes and hearts wide open to what it means to live with hope now. We have created resources for you and your community to explore Advent together.
An Advent Devotional for kids will be available for pickup in the Gathering Space as well.

In late September, Hurricane Helene hit the coast of Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, ravaging communities in the southeast, from Florida to Virginia. As the floodwaters have started to recede, the extreme devastation — especially in North Carolina and Tennessee — has become clearer. Entire towns, roads and bridges have been washed away, and millions are without power and cell service. Whatever unfolds because of this storm, Lutheran Disaster Response will be there. Lutheran Disaster Response has strong relationships in the region and is already at work on the ground. Working alongside synods and other partners, Lutheran Disaster Response is prepared to provide support throughout the impacted region. We anticipate that our greatest impact will be reaching those in underserved and rural areas.
In March of 2025, a group of adults from Prince of Peace will be heading to Asheville area to serve with Lutheran Disaster Response. To learn more about this trip, reach out to Mary Ellen Helms.
Help Light the Advent Wreath
Would your family consider lighting the Advent Wreath this coming season? All you would need to do is arrive 5-10 minutes before the service to speak with the pastors and then light the candles at the start of the service. This is a great way for individuals, families, and couples to participate in worship as we ponder the light of Christ.
If you’d like to participate, sign up directly at this link.
