Sabbath is more than a day. It's a lens through which we engage the world. It's a paradigm for how we think about time, plan and schedule it. It's grounded in a sacred trust that while we contribute to the good in the world, the good in the world does not depend on us. The One who created us, and all things, in Love, holds us and sustain us. We can take our hand off the plow, and the field will still produce it's crop. 

Join Rev. Mary Laymon for conversations about how we practice Sabbath in our lives inspired by Wayne Mueller's book, Sabbath. Each conversation will stand on it's own, so you may join us for one, or all of them. Wayne Mueller's book is full of small essays, each can be read in one sitting. You are encouraged to read this book over the Summer. Each Sabbath Conversation will reflect on one essay, which the group will read together, so you do not need to read ahead of time to participate. Mary will choose the essay closer to the day of the conversation.
